Onzano’s finely designed mortar and pestle is made from genuine natural granite, it has a great feel and effectively grinds your spices, nuts, herbs and more to very fine powder or paste. Your non-porous, solid Granite, mortar and pestle will not absorb oils, spices and juices. Simply hand wash with water and let dry. On the first use, put two tablespoons of rice into the mortar. Using your pestle, roughly grind the rice until it becomes a dark color and then rinse with warm water. Make sure you have removed the granite powder on the surface. The mortar has a built in anti-scratch and slip base to make working your herbs and spices easy and efficient.
